Privacy and cookie policy
Effective Date: 21/01/2025
At We Do Frames, we use cookies to support the functionality of our website, understand how it is used, and - where you have given your consent - to deliver relevant marketing. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, the legal basis for each category, and how you can manage your preferences.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They serve various purposes: remembering your preferences, enabling essential features, and collecting usage data. Cookies may be session-based (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (stored on your device until they expire or are manually deleted).
How We Manage Your Consent
We use CookieYes as our Consent Management Platform. When you first visit our website, a cookie banner allows you to accept, reject, or customise your preferences by category. Your choices are recorded and stored for 365 days, after which you will be asked again.
You can review or update your preferences at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer of our website.
Types of Cookies We Use
We use the following categories of cookies. For each category, we set out the purpose and the legal basis under GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive.
1. Strictly Necessary Cookies
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — no consent required.
These cookies are essential for the website to function. They cannot be disabled, as they are set in response to actions you take — such as logging in, adding items to your basket, or setting your privacy preferences. Without them, the services you have requested cannot be delivered.
- Examples: session identifiers, security tokens, cookie consent state.
2. Functional Cookies
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — no consent required.
Functional cookies allow the website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, personalised features. They are not used for advertising.
- Examples: language preferences, your cookie consent selections, and product configuration choices (such as frame size, profile, and finish) made during your session.
3. Performance Cookies
Legal basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and ePrivacy Directive) — only set if you accept this category.
Performance cookies collect information about how visitors use our website — for example, which pages are visited most often and whether any errors occur. All data is aggregated and used solely to improve the website. No personally identifiable information is collected through these cookies.
- Example: Google Analytics (anonymised, processed via server-side tracking — see below).
4. Targeting and Marketing Cookies
Legal basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and ePrivacy Directive) — only set if you accept this category.
These cookies may be set by us or our third-party advertising partners to build a profile of your interests and display relevant advertisements across other websites and platforms. They work by uniquely identifying your browser and device.
- Examples: Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking.
Server-Side Tracking and Data Storage
We operate server-side tracking, which means that data collected through analytics and marketing tools is first processed on our own servers before being forwarded to third-party platforms. Our servers are located within the European Union, in compliance with GDPR data residency requirements.
This approach reduces the amount of data shared directly with third-party platforms and gives us greater control over what is transmitted and when.
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our website are set by third-party services we use to operate, analyse, and market our platform. All third-party service providers are bound by data processing agreements and are required to handle your data in compliance with GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive.
Google Analytics
Collects anonymised data about how visitors navigate and interact with our website. Data is processed via server-side tracking on our EU-based infrastructure before being forwarded to Google. Used solely for internal analytics to improve the website experience. Data is processed in accordance with Google's privacy framework, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for transfers outside the EU.
Meta (Facebook Pixel)
Used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, understand how visitors interact with our ads, and serve relevant content to people who have previously shown interest in We Do Frames. Data is processed via server-side tracking. Meta Ireland Ltd. acts as a data recipient; transfers to Meta's US-based infrastructure are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses.
Google Ads (Conversion Tracking)
Tracks actions taken after clicking one of our advertisements, enabling us to measure campaign performance and allocate marketing spend effectively. Data is processed via server-side tracking. Transfers outside the EU are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses.
Klaviyo
Our email marketing platform may set cookies to track engagement with marketing emails and personalise communication based on browsing behaviour. Klaviyo cookies are only active if you have opted in to marketing communications. Transfers outside the EU are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses.
CookieYes
Our Consent Management Platform. Sets cookies to record and store your consent preferences for 365 days, ensuring your choices are respected on return visits. This is a strictly necessary cookie and does not require your consent.
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
International Data Transfers
Some of our third-party partners — including Google and Meta — process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), primarily in the United States. Where such transfers occur, we ensure they are protected by appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. Our server-side tracking infrastructure further limits the data passed to these platforms.
Cookie Duration
Cookies set on our website fall into two categories by lifespan:
- Session cookies: deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies: stored on your device for a defined period. The standard duration for consent and analytics cookies on our website is 365 days. Individual third-party cookies may have their own expiry periods as set by the respective provider.
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have full control over which non-essential cookies are active on your device.
Via Our Cookie Settings
When you first visit our website, the CookieYes banner allows you to:
- Accept all cookies.
- Reject all non-essential cookies.
- Customise your preferences by category.
You can change your preferences at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer of our website.
Via Your Browser
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies directly through their settings. Please refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions specific to your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, or others).
Please note: disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality or personalised experience of our website.
Data Protection and Privacy
Cookies do not directly store sensitive personal data such as your name, payment details, or passwords. However, some cookies — particularly analytics and marketing cookies — may collect technical identifiers such as IP addresses or device IDs, which may constitute personal data under GDPR. These are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
For full details of how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

As a resident of the EU or EEA, you have the following rights in relation to data collected through cookies:
- The right to access data collected about you.
- The right to rectify inaccurate data.
- The right to request deletion of your data.
- The right to restrict or object to processing.

- The right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
For cookie-related enquiries, please contact us at [email protected]. For broader data protection matters, please refer to our Privacy Policy or contact us directly.
Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, the services we use, or applicable legal requirements. The Effective Date at the top of this document indicates the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page from time to time.
